The Region
Cahuzac is a small village 25 minutes south
of Bergerac and very convenient for the new airport
just south of Bergerac.
The local market village of Castillonnes is only
around 3.5km away and provides an extensive range of shops and
restaurants. It is in the heart of the bastide country.
The region is generally considered to be the gastronomic centre
of France. The area is renowned for its Foie Gras, chestnuts and
local farm produce and there are many excellent family run restaurants
and auberges. Wine trails spread out in all directions offering
the opportunity to visit Chateaux and buy direct.
Markets operate daily in the local villages where good quality
produce can be purchased. During the summer months many of these
villages hold fetes which provide further local colour with their
lively parades and firework displays.
Activities
Tennis, fishing, lakes numerous walks and mountain bike routes
are just a few of the local activities which can be found on your
doorstep.
For golf lovers there are 2 excellent courses a short drive away.
Castlenaud is a comprehensive golfing complex with both a championship
length 18 hole course and a 9 hole course plus driving range. At
Chateau Vigiers there is also another excellent 18 hole course. |
